Vanuatu Permanent Residency: Visas, Eligibility, Costs & Documents

To apply for Vanuatu permanent residency, identify the right official visa category, verify current requirements, prepare certified documents and apply through the prescribed channel. Neither eligibility nor approval is guaranteed.

Permanent residency in Vanuatu is not citizenship or a passport. Visa categories differ in eligibility, duration, costs and work rights. Cosmo helps applicants establish the applicable route and prepare for a verified, documented process.

Information based on official immigration and eVisa pages. Reconfirm current eligibility, costs and category mapping before applying; do not treat these as one interchangeable visa.

COSMO · 2026 WORKING CHECKLIST

Cosmo's 2026 preparatory document checklist

The following comes from Cosmo's provided 2026 permanent-residence checklist. It is not a universal official immigration form and must be matched to a verified visa category before use.

The internal checklist mentions investments exceeding US$400,000 anywhere in the world. This has not been independently matched to a published official threshold for every permanent-residency category.

The internal checklist describes up to four family members (parents and two children under 18). This must not be assumed to apply to every residency visa.

  1. 01Valid passport identity page for each applicant and certified copy
  2. 02Police-clearance certificate from country of nationality (certified)

  5. 05Digital passport photographs (specifications to be verified)
  6. 06Certified marriage or birth certificates with translations for family applications

Do not send passports, police clearances or bank statements during first contact. Secure document upload is not enabled.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Permanent-residency questions

01Does a Vanuatu PR visa come with a passport?

No. Permanent residence is immigration status, not citizenship; DSP citizenship is a separate route.

02Can permanent residents work or operate a business?

It depends on the visa. The eVisa Permanent Residency Visa restricts employment and commercial activities; investor categories differ.

03Is every permanent-residency visa indefinite?

No. The eVisa permanent-residency product is up to 10 years. The separate Permanent Investor Visa is listed as indefinite.

04Does US$400,000 in assets guarantee eligibility?

No. This comes from Cosmo's 2026 working checklist and is not confirmed as a universal official threshold.

05Can a family of four apply?

The internal checklist lists parents and two children under 18; official eligibility and fees depend on the exact visa.

06When are fees paid?

First verify the visa category, government costs, contracting entity, written quotation and refund conditions.
